Slimbridge, situated on the banks of the River Severn and close to the M5 just north of Bristol, is one of the top sites for winter goose-watching. It is most famously known for the overwintering flock of the pale pink-billed European white-fronted goose and the Crane School.
You may wish to bring food and drink for the day or alternatively use the Water’s Edge Restaurant where they serve hot and cold food and beverages and offer a view of flamingos.
The coach price is £22.00. If you are not a member of the WWT there is an also entrance fee of £11.43, or £9.73 for over 65's, payable on arrival.
The coach trip is open to all but if you are not a member of the RSPB Guildford Local Group the cost is an additional £10. This payment will include free membership of the group until the end of the group year.
A limited number of places on our coach trips are available free of charge for accompanied young people aged 12-18. If you would like to book one of these places, please ring Trish Watts.
The coach leaves at 8 am and will return by about 7 pm. There is no charge for parking at Guildford Park Road car park.
Please bring appropriate clothing and footwear for conditions on the day which can be subject to change at any time. You will be expected to use the walk in such a way as not to place yourselves or others at risk and to follow all requirements set by the walk leader.
