All walks have had to be cancelled while we are Lockdown. We hope to be able to resume our outdoor activities before too long.

Indoor Meetings
We generally meet twice a month (Sept.-May) on the first Thursday at 2pm or the fourth Wednesday at 7.30pm. The days may occationally change so please check our programme for dates of each meeting. The meetings are £1 for Local Group Members and £3 for non-members. Click here for more information

Walks
We have resumed our outdoor activities subject to some restrictions required by the Covid regulations.
- Observe Covid requirements by maintaining social distancing within your assigned group.
- Avoid sharing of equipment especially optics.
- Wear a mask when entering hides.
In severe weather, a meeting may be cancelled. Check with walk leader or field trip co-ordinator Tony Cummins.
New members and beginners are welcome. We try to help each other in identifying birds and other wildlife.
Group walks cover about 3 miles and finish by lunchtime, unless indicated otherwise.
- Wear appropriate clothing and footwear Keep away from cliff edges and river banks
- Watch out for nettles, brambles and overhanging branches
- Remember that some vegetation is harmful
- Beware of barbed wire and of electrified fences
- Inform someone if you leave the group
- Take precautions against sunburn, hypothermia, dehydration and exposure.
Coach Trips
Several coach trips are organised each year to more distant destinations, saving you the need to drive. Non-members can book for coach trips, but we reserve the right to give preference to Group members.
Fundraising
Each year our group raises large sums for the RSPB. These range from stalls at local events, jumble sales, plant sale and more.
Social events
We arrange several social events each year. This is a way for people to get to know each other better and are usually only open to members of our local group.
Holidays
Two holiday trips are organised each year. Participation in holiday trips is restricted to our members.
Special events
We sometimes arrange bird ID sessions and other special events. See individual event for details.
External events
When possible we will include events at local RSPB reserves
Coach Trips
Coaches leave from the large Car Park in Guildford Park Road, Guildford GU2 7NL. The entrance is down the unnamed turning next to Guildford Park Church. There is a parking fee on Saturdays.
In severe weather, a trip may be cancelled. Check with Trish Watts.
Non-members can book for coach trips but will have to pay an extra £10. This includes membership of our Local Group until the end of the year.
A few seats are available free of charge for accompanied young people (age 12-18). Contact Trish Watts to book a free seat.
