A pretty successful coach trip to Minsmere. The weather was rather too hot, but with a pleasant sea breeze and plenty of birds. There were excellent views of bitterns and marsh harriers, lots of breeding avocets and terns, plus many Med gulls. The bearded tits were elusive as usual and the reed beds quite quiet. A hobby was seen hunting the large numbers of dragon flies, including many Norfolk Hawkers. Cetti’s warblers and blackcaps shouted from the bushes, but the hoped-for Savis and marsh warblers remained silent. The M25 lived up to its reputation on the way home!
